Sec. 3. The application will be voted on as prescribed in
Article VII of the By-Laws at the first regular meeting following the performance outlined
in Sec. 2 above. The applicant shall not be present at this meeting. The Secretary shall
notify the applicant in writing of his acceptance or rejection within 48 hours and return
all fees and dues in the case of rejection.
Sec. 4. Applicants, not already members of the International Brotherhood of Magicians,
shall be accepted into this Ring pending their acceptance into the International
Brotherhood of Magicians.
Article II
FEES & DUES
Sec. 1. The annual dues for this Ring shall be $25.00 for all classes of membership and
shall become due at the annual meeting.
(a) A full years dues shall accompany applications for
membership received between June and November inclusive of any year and one-half years
dues shall accompany applications for membership received between December and May of any
year.
(b) Should extenuating circumstances prevail (i.e. a member moving to, or living a
distance great enough, or his health and/or disability prevent his active participation in
the Ring), at the discretion of the Board of Governors and a majority vote of the
membership at a regular meeting, said member's dues shall be decreased to half the annual
fee or an amount to cover mailing expense of the monthly newsletter.
Sec. 2. Any member whose dues remain unpaid at the regular September meeting of each year
shall automatically be suspended from membership and lose all rights thereto, provided
that such member will automatically be reinstated if dues owing are paid prior to the
regular December meeting.
Sec. 3. Any member whose dues are unpaid at the December meeting shall be reinstated by
the payment of dues owed accompanied by a reinstatement fee of $5.00 if done prior to the
Annual meeting.
Sec. 4. Members delinquent for twelve months shall be automatically dropped from the Ring
Membership at the Annual Meeting and the International Secretary so informed. Applications
for reinstatement shall be considered as new applications and handled as such excepting
that the part of Sec. 2 (a) Article I By-Laws pertaining to applicants performance is
hereby waived and the application will be submitted to the membership for balloting at the
first meeting after being received and read to the membership.
Article III
DUTIES OF OFFICERS
Sec. 1. President: It shall be the duty of the President to preside at all meetings of the
Ring and to have general supervision of the business and affairs thereof. He shall be a
member of all committees ex-officio. He shall be a member of the Board of Governors
ex-officio but shall have no vote therein excepting in case of a tie vote.
Sec. 2. Vice-President: The Vice-President shall assume and discharge the duties of the
office of President in the absence of, or when called upon by the President. He shall be
responsible for the entertainment portion of the meeting.
Sec. 3. Secretary:
(a) The Secretary shall have charge of and keep a true
record of all meetings of this Ring and render reports of membership at the annual meeting
or when called upon at a meeting. He will mail notices of Regular meetings to the
membership no later than seven days prior to the meeting date. He shall handle all
correspondence of the Ring, including reports to the Linking Ring Magazine. He shall also
be Secretary for the Board of Governors. He will submit all club minutes and records for
inspection to the President prior to the Annual Meeting or anytime upon request by the
President. As these files accumulate, those no longer required for current use shall
periodically be transferred to the Club Historian for permanent record and storage.
